GLANFORD BRIGG REGISTRATION DISTRICT MARRIAGES

1837 TO 1850

These marriage details have been extracted from the parish registers of the following parishes in the Glanford Brigg Registration District:

Appleby, Barnetby le Wold, Barrow on Humber, Barton St Mary, Barton St Peter, Bonby, Bottesford, Brigg (1840 only), Broughton*, Burton on Stather, Cadney, East Halton, Elsham, Flixborough, Frodingham, Goxhill, Hibaldstow, Horkstow, Kirmington, Kirton Lindsey, Manton, Messingham, Redbourne, Roxby, Saxby All Saints, Scawby, South Ferriby, West Halton, Winteringham, Winterton, Wootton, Worlaby and Wrawby.

* Broughton marriages are taken from a pre 1837 style register and no fathers' names are given.

Nonconformist: Brigg Bridge Street Wesleyan (otherwise known as Scawby Wesleyan Methodist) from 1848 only.

The following parishes have not deposited marriage records for this period and are therefore not included:

Alkborough, East Halton, Melton Ross, Killingholme, Thornton Curtis, Ulceby, Whitton.

Where the groom or bride's father had a different surname, or the surname was spelt differently, from that of the groom or bride, this is shown in capital letters. All other names in these columns are forenames. The bride's condition (single or widow) is only shown where the father's surname is different to hers. In many instances, father's names are not given. Any comments in the father's name column, other than a name, are shown in italics e.g. deceased etc. Where nothing appeared the word blank has been inserted. In one or two instances the name of the bride or groom's mother has been given.
